Warrior Harriers Open at Pella

Pella, IA -- The Indian Hills women's cross country team had their first meet of the fall on Saturday at the Dutch Invitational, hosted by Central College.
Sara Lindemulder, a freshman for the Warriors who was an outstanding all-around athlete at Davis County High School, led the IHCC women with a 42nd-place finish in the 5K race. Her time was 21:33. She was followed by a pair of Indian Hills sophomores -- Brittany Lawson was 92nd (25:08) and Rachel Bronson 93rd (25:35).
New coach Jim Streeby said, "We have a lot of work to do, but they have a great attitude and are a fun bunch to work with."
The field for the meet at Pella included six four-year schools and four two-year schools.
Next up for the Warriors is the Les Duke Invitational at Grinnell on Sept. 12. Over 30 teams and 350 runners are expected to compete in the women's and men's competition.
