Rock Island, IL -- Both of the Indian Hills women's cross country runners who represented the college in the Brissman-Lundeen Invitational on Friday came away with personal-best times over the 6K course.
Freshman Katie Hocker ran a very strong race and had her best time of the year in finishing in 24:49, 1:19 faster than her previous best time. Hocker was under 20 minutes at the three-mile mark.
Breeann Buseman, also a freshman, improved nearly four full minutes from her time earlier in the year, running 34:59.
The Warriors' next meet will be the Dan Huston Invitational in Waverly Oct. 8.

Pair of Warriors Compete in Pella
Pella -- The Indian Hills women's cross country team had one top-30 finisher among the two IHCC runners who took part in the Central Dutch Invitational on Saturday.
Freshman Katie Hocker was 28th overall with a time of 22:16 over the 5K course.
Breeann Buseman, also a freshman, had a time of 30:15.5 for the Warriors.
Indian Hills will compete in the Les Duke Invitational in Grinnell this Saturday.

Warriors Battle Heat at Huston Invitational
Waverly, IA -- The Indian Hills women's cross country team had four runners take part in the Dan Huston Invitational, hosted by Wartburg College, on Saturday. The race was run with temperatures in the 80s which made it a very challenging 6K course for the women, according to IHCC coach Jim Streeby.
Sarah Lindemulder led the IHCC runners across the line with a time of 31:38. Susana Merrick was next in 34:10. Katie Harper came in third for IHCC in 36:40 and Astred Ambriz ran 37:31.
There were over 320 finishers in the women's race.
The Indian Hills women will now have nearly three weeks to prepare for the Super Regionals in Council Bluffs on Oct. 29.

Lindemulder Leads IHCC Women in Ames
Ames -- Sarah Lindemulder's 60th-place finish led the Indian Hills women's cross country team in Saturday's Iowa Intercollegiate Meet. Lindemulder's time was 23:02 for the 5K race. It was the 4th meet in a row that the sophomore turned in the top time for the IHCC women.
According to coach Jim Streeby, Katie Harper, a freshman from Ollie, has been working hard and increasing her mileage each week. That hard work paid off for Harper whose time in this meet was 1:43 faster than in her first 5k race to start the season. Harper was 93rd and teammate Astred Aguilar next in 94th place for IHCC.

Warriors Compete at Grinnell
Grinnell - The Indian Hills women's cross country team went to Grinnell on Saturday for the Les Duke Invitational. It was a 6K race for the women at the Oakland Acres Golf Course, the first time for IHCC's three freshmen to run that distance.
Sarah Lindemulder once again paced Indian Hills. Lindemulder, who was battling an illness ran 30:27. Susana Merrick was next for IHCC with a time of 34:33. Katie Harper (36:29) and Astred Aguilar (37:04) rounded out the scoring for Indian Hills.
The Warriors will head to Ames for their next action in a meet this Saturday.

Warriors Show Improvement at Dutch Invite

Lindemulder ran the 5K race in 22:48, compared to her time of 25:48 for the ICCAC Time Trial in Council Bluffs one week earlier.
Susana Merrick was second for the Warriors with a time of 27:28. Astred Aguilar ran 29:24 and Katie Harper 29:25 for IHCC.
