IHCC Women Post PR's in Friday Meet

Davenport -- All three runners who took part in the Brissman/Lundeen Invitational on Friday posted their best times of the season over the 6K course at Credit Island in Davenport as the IHCC women took part in their third meet of the fall.

Freshman Sarah Lindemulder improved her previous best time by 13 seconds as she placed 187th to lead the Indian Hills' runners.

Sophomores Rachel Bronson and Brittany Lawson both ran very well, according to IHCC coach Jim Streeby. Bronson took nearly 2:30 off her previous best time and Lawson's time was 50 seconds better than she had run before.

The majority of the over 30 teams that ran in the meet were four-year schools and more than 700 runners from schools in Iowa, Illinois, Missouri and Wisconsin took part along with a number of good unattached or open runners.

The Indian Hills women will continue training in preparation for their next meet in Cedar Rapids on October 10.

Warriors Compete at Les Duke Invite

Grinnell, IA -- The Indian Hills women's cross country team took part in the 49th Les Duke Invitational on Saturday. It was a 6K course at Oakland Acres with over 200 women's runners competing.

The top finish for the IHCC women was turned in by freshman Sara Lindemulder with a time of 26:56, good for 102nd place. Lindemulder's time was the second-fastest of the runners from two-year schools in the meet.

The other Warriors who took part in the meet were freshman Susana Merrick (30:15), sophomore Brittany Lawson (30:54) and soph Rachel Bronson (31:47).

Indian Hills will be idle until traveling to Davenport for the Brissman-Lundeen Invitational on September 25.

Warrior Harriers Open at Pella

Pella, IA -- The Indian Hills women's cross country team had their first meet of the fall on Saturday at the Dutch Invitational, hosted by Central College.
Sara Lindemulder, a freshman for the Warriors who was an outstanding all-around athlete at Davis County High School, led the IHCC women with a 42nd-place finish in the 5K race. Her time was 21:33. She was followed by a pair of Indian Hills sophomores -- Brittany Lawson was 92nd (25:08) and Rachel Bronson 93rd (25:35).
New coach Jim Streeby said, "We have a lot of work to do, but they have a great attitude and are a fun bunch to work with."
The field for the meet at Pella included six four-year schools and four two-year schools.
Next up for the Warriors is the Les Duke Invitational at Grinnell on Sept. 12. Over 30 teams and 350 runners are expected to compete in the women's and men's competition.
